Arise and Shine Cosmetics started as an answer to prayer so that Natasha Briscoe could generate an income to stay in the home and home-school her children. Her son became lactose intolerant and she became very careful about what products she would give to her family.

After being shocked by so many unnecessary and poor quality ingredients in her hair pomade, she decided to create her own hair care range. Research began in 2006 and in 2008, after training in Cosmetic Legislation, the first products were certified for public benefit.

We saw the need among African-Caribbean women to embrace their glory before it became a widely appreciated belief that natural is not only best, but beautiful too. Today the range sits alongside hair education, because understanding your hair is the first step to caring for it.
