Laws of Health

Is an Apple a day really enough?

We promote these health laws to encourage our customers to combine our topical beauty treatments with good health practices. Its obvious that for optimum health plenty water, raw fruit and veg and sufficient exercise are needed, but what about the other things that we should consider and do for our benefit.

Nutrition

Our body does not see the food we eat as lentils, orange, lasagne or yam. It views every food nutritionally and it is this nutrition that enables us to grow and to repair any damage. Simply put the food we eat becomes the building blocks that make up our hair and the condition of our hair can be affected by our diet. So if we are eating balanced meals (food from each of the food groups; carbohydrates, protein, fats, minerals, vitamins and WATER) we are contributing to good health and if like most people you desire healthy hair food is key in creating it.

Exercise

It’s obvious! Exercise helps to circulate the blood and oxygen around the body. Exercise in the open air is best. Oxygenated blood brings life and good blood (full of nutrients) to the hair root stimulates growth. In addition exercise helps to strengthen our bones, rid the body of toxins, reduces most stress and allows the brain to receive oxygen and therefore function better.

Exercise can be fun, it shouldn’t be looked upon as a burden, we do feel better physically and emotionally after a good workout.

Water

We now know how great water is on the outside of our hair, it cleanses and serves as an excellent moisturiser. When we take a cool bath and drink it, water contributes to good circulation and dissolves most toxins in the body. Water feeds the brain and helps to carry nutrients and oxygen from the blood to the cells.

Sunlight

Known to be life giving sunlight also kills most bacteria on the skin and as the scalp is still skin a little sunlight on it would do it some good. In England there are many sufferers of Vitamin D deficiency and most people sadly do not know that they fall into that group. This deficiency affects the bones and causes health concerns such as cardiovascular and asthma to name few. Severe heat can cause hair damage so consider how much you allow and avoid the midday sun. (Especially during the summer months)

Temperance

Temperance is self control. Too much of anything is just as harmful as too little of anything. Temperance requires that we be reflective and honest with ourselves. We should be taught about how the human body works and become familiar with our own body. For best health it is wise to avoid things that are detrimental to our well being such as smoking and recreational drugs. It is also recommended to do planned fasting from food, fasting has many healing benefits such as aiding clarity of mind. It is also vital to detox. Most disease starts in the colon so cleaning it would be of great benefit but always seek an experienced herbalist for advice on herbs and cleansing programs. Temperance is also knowing when to stop!

Air

Oxygen in the blood feeds the tissues, cells and organs. Without oxygen the body is prone to disease and various health issues. Have a constant stream of fresh air flowing through your home enabling you to fill your body with life giving oxygen rather than inhaling the carbon dioxide that you have just expelled from your lungs. Breathe deeply allowing a good supply of air to enter the lungs. Poor breathing is a root to many disfunctions. Go to the park and enjoy nature as the trees give you your fix of oxygen.

Rest

In 6 days God made the earth and on the 7th day He rested. What an example! Many times we need to remind ourselves that the work never finishes! There will always be something more to do. During the hours of sleep our body repairs itself, growth hormones are released and the brain and immune systems are better able to function when the body has rested. So setting a day or time aside for rest or planning a short break will do the world of good. Delegating tasks to children, or to our spouse will free up time that we can use to take a midday nap or to have an early night. When our body has had sufficient sleep we will then be more cheerful and positive as we do our daily activities. The rest we take impacts the rate that our hair grows.

Trust In God

It’s a fact! You are a special person did you know it? God values you! He loves each one of us so much that He would die for us and when we get to know Him we learn that He NEVER fails. To the one who has not got to know The Living God it may appear that He fails. But if we honestly reflect we can see how He provides, He supports and encourages us on a unique and individual level. He permits challenges to come our way so we can develop into better people and we are never left to go through them without His comfort and help. All He asks is that we accept Him with a willing mind, trust Him and allow Him to show us how much He loves us. With God all things are possible!
